Senior Pastor

Peter Dibley

Peter has pastored FCC since 2008. He graduated from Northwest University with a BA in Pastoral Ministry and received his MA in Biblical Languages from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Passionate about studying and teaching the Bible, he has seen the knowledge of Christ transform individuals and communities through ministries of compassion, mercy and justice. Walking with people through life’s joys and sorrows is his great privilege as pastor. Peter, Genevive, and their two daughters, Langsea and Lucy, are camping in as many National Parks as possible before the girls go to university.

Pastor of Family & Outreach

Cody Taylor

Cody joined FCC in January of 2024. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, with a BA in Pastoral Ministry and North Park Theological Seminary, where he completed a Master of Divinity (MDiv). Prior to being called as a pastor at FCC, Cody served as a youth pastor in Chicago where he led middle school and high school ministries, as well as various outreach programs. He also served on staff staff at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp in Lake Geneva, WI, where he led overnight camps and retreats for students in grades 2-12.  He is married to his wife, Lauren, and they have two young daughters, Ellie (4) and Isla (1).

Children, Youth, and Young Adults Ministry Assistant

Ky Gary

Ky grew up coming to First Covenant and has been a part of the church for the past 16 years. He came to the church through our Summer Park program and has been here ever since. He has been on staff since fall of 2022 where he started as our Youth and children’s intern but through the past couple of years has grown in his role and responsibilities at FCC. He is an wonderful artist and avid comic book fan and could talk about those topics for hours if you let him. He enjoys conversations, playing games, and supporting others in achieving their goals.

Music and Worship Arts Coordinator

Jenny Maragia

Jenny has been involved musically in church/youth ministry consistently since the age of 13. She has gained much of her musical training from professional’s past and present in the Rockford area and had the privilege of performing with many of them locally. Though trained primarily in classical and jazz styles, Jenny’s true musical passion has always been worshipping the Lord with her talents.  She believes prayer is an important aspect of worship and strives to facilitate a lifestyle of prayer and worship in her family and the community around her.  She is mother to 3 grown children, her 17-year-old son, Jak and her chocolate lab, Honey.  She teaches piano and voice privately in addition to her position at First Covenant.

Administrative Assistant

Jackie McBain

Jackie joined the FCC staff in January of 2024. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BS in Business and received her MS in Servant Leadership and Management from Benedictine University. Jackie’s 30+ career has been focused on leading Marketing and Communications for companies in the manufacturing, technology, and non-profit sectors. Retired from her professional career, Jackie is sharing her knowledge and expertise with FCC and working directly with Pastor Peter. Jackie and her husband John have two grown children, Ryley (who lives locally) and Lauren (who lives in Dallas, TX). When she is not at FCC, she enjoys cycling, cooking, volunteering, and caring for her two young grandsons.

Facilities Manager

Keith Dickerman

Keith has been the Facility Manager at FCC since 2007. His background in machine repairs helps him keep the building running in top form. His ability to work well with people/groups helps to ensure the flow of building usage. Keith plays on FCC’s Praise Team as their drummer. Keith’s wife,  Dianna sings on the Praise Team and volunteers in the church library. Keith and Dianna have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. 

Finance Administrator

Kris Bell

Kris has worked for thirty-nine years in the office at First Covenant and considers it a great privilege. She grew up at First Covenant. Kris and her husband Jack were married here forty-eight years ago. They have two grown children, and have been blessed with four wonderful granddaughters.
