Serving

First Covenant Church

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)

Our vision LOVE GROW SERVE is like a three-legged stool. Each leg is vital to the whole. Our focus on service depends on loving God with all that we are and loving all our neighbors. To serve with authenticity depends on growing closer in relationship with Jesus Christ and helping others grow closer to Christ. SERVE is the last word of our trifold vision statement, but is first in our mission statement, “Servants of Christ…” We follow the example of Jesus as the Apostle Paul said, “[H]ave the same mindset as Christ Jesus…he made himself nothing taking the very nature of a servant…” (Philippians 2:5,7)

Pop-up Pantry

First Covenant Church is a neighborhood church that continues to meet the needs of our neighborhood and beyond by providing emergency food needs. Our Pop-up Pantry is an event
that caters to the needs of our neighbors by driving down our local streets and offering non-perishable goods. Because the Covid 19 pandemic has created more immediate needs, we will be going out to the neighborhood throughout the summer months. To join the group or request a food box, call the church office at 815-398-4247.

The 2nd Monday of every month!

Call the church office to donate a food item that will help provide lunch.

The Carpenter's Place

First Covenant Church is one of many partners that help provide homeless persons a lunch meal at The Carpenter’s Place. We are committed to the second Monday of each month. People sign up to provide one portion of the meal, drop that portion off at First Covenant, and then a designated group bring down the meal and serve it.

Due to Covid-19, the details have been changing each month for the availability of
serving the meal. Anyone can donate toward the lunch by calling the church office (815-398-4247) to find out the needs for that month. If you would like to learn about The Carpenter’s Place, how to volunteer or meet these life needs click on the buttons below.
