What to Expect
The Park is a summer outreach of First Covenant Church. This ministry is part of our vision of joining in God’s work by serving our immediate neighborhood and broader Rockford area families with the love of Christ. Our goals is to provide a safe place for students to come during the summer. The Park program offers a loving and warm environment with a qualified staff that is trained to be a positive role model for the students.
Daily activities include: Outside games, arts and crafts, science projects, field trips, Bible lessons, and much more! Lunch is included each day!

The Park runs for 10 weeks from June 17 to August 23, and offers weekday activities to children entering 1st grade thru 6th grade in the fall. Park runs from 9am – 3pm, Monday thru Friday, unless otherwise noted.

FAQ's
Does Park offer before and after care?
- Before and after care is available, beginning at 7am and ending at 5pm. When registering, please indicate that this would be helpful for your family and what time you would plan to drop off and pick up your students. There is no additional cost for before and after care.
Are there scholarships available?
- Yes! We want to make PARK available to all families and are grateful to be able to offer scholarships on a first-come, first-serve-basis. Please indicate in your registration that you would like to be contacted by a member of our staff to discuss scholarship opportunities that are available.
What if I have to cancel my student’s registration?
- We get it! Things come up and plans change. If you need to cancel your student’s registration, please contact us at summerpark@firstcovrockford.org as soon as possible. We can offer a full refund if you cancel 10 days before the start of the week program.
- Yes. If you are interested in registering your student for a week that is already full, you can choose to register for the waitlist. If a spot becomes available, a member of our staff will contact you via email. We will close all registrations 10 days prior to the start of each week.
- Student should come each day with a non-glass water bottle, appropriate footwear to be active outdoors, and weather-appropriate clothing. Weather-permitting, we will spend a majority of our time together outdoors. Applying sunscreen at home before they arrive is strongly encouraged. Additionally, we encourage Park students to leave their electronic devices at home.
