Ken & Adrienne Satterberg – France

Ken and Adrienne Satterberg are long-term missionaries, with Ken serving from 1983-1986, and 1989 to the present; and Adrienne serving since 2011. The Satterbergs currently support the Mosaics Project in France. Many people from North Africa and the Middle East look for a new start in France. Ken and Adrienne work with many of these refugee communities, each with rich cultural traditions; navigating their way through difficult circumstances. Human trafficking is a huge issue that affects many refugees, and the Satterbergs constantly combat this horrendous situation.

Eugenio & Pia Restrepo - Latin America

Eugenio and Pia Restrepo have served as missionaries since 1996. In their current role, they are currently serving as Regional Coordinators for Latin America for The Evangelical Covenant Church. Regional Coordinators work to develop and support missionaries in their geographic area. As experienced missionaries, the Restrepos provide an invaluable resource to their partners as they work to spread the Good News of Jesus. In the coming year: “We are looking forward to participating in the equipping, empowering, and guiding of new missionaries to Latin America and the Caribbean.”

Igor & Alla Zadorozhnaya - Ukraine

Pastor Igor and Alla have faithfully served as Missionaries/Church Planters in Kalinovka, Ukraine.  Since the 1990’s Igor and Alla have Pastored “The House of Prayer” which was, for a long time, the only church in the village.  First Covenant “came along side” and helped in building the church structure followed by many years of ministering encouragement and direction for this baby church.  Today Pastor Igor and Alla have been instrumental in “birthing” two new churches in Bogdanovka and Omelyonova as well as a large VBS program in five nearby villages.  Pastor Igor also continues to serve the Ukrainian Army as a chaplain.

Steve grew up at First Covenant, and along with his wife Ellen, served as missionaries in the Southeast Asia area for many years. After years of experience, they transitioned to their current role of providing guidance and support for missionary teams working in the same areas where they served. They have an important ministry of leadership, guidance and encouragement to those serving directly in the field. This coordination and support is crucial to the wellbeing of many teams serving in several countries.

Peter and Ruth Dutton have served as missionaries in Laos and Thailand since 1988. They currently live in Thailand. They have shown the love of Jesus through many activities over the years. One of their roles is providing leadership and support in their local church. Being able to speak English is advantageous in Thailand, so they teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes locally. A few years ago Peter and Ruth became involved in managing and expanding a growing camp ministry center.

Carl and Karen Groot have served as missionaries in Thailand since 1988. They founded and run the Abundant Life Center. The ALC focuses on helping migrants from other areas of Thailand. At the ALC, women learn how to sew and create beautiful, functional, sturdy bags and purses. The bags are then sold, often in the United States. This gives the women a consistent, reliable way to financially support themselves and their families. The ALC also provides a safe, stable environment where they learn the love of Jesus.
